Motorway City

Years ago I left the booming city of London for, er, Detroit, and its oddly Logan's Run style 'Ren Cen'. Why? Good question and therein lies a tale. Regardless, a friend from England came for a visit and we wandered around town, looking at weeds growing out of the roads. "This isn't so bad'" said Horsemouth, "it's like Dalston." I thought that over for a moment, scanning the arcs for opposition, "Sure, Horsemouth, but this is the center of the city."
"Ah." replied my English friend.

Came as a bit of a culture shock, Detroit, God bless it, a place where nature's reclaiming its own. Speaking of which, here's a picture of the Motor City's former Mayor, 'Kwame', being released from gaol some time last year. He's in Texas now, I think.

Top body guard result.

Lord have mercy.

Detroit is Exhibit A in what is wrong with America. Hubristic business, socialist policies...

It and the state of california should be dissected and biopsied like a tumor to study what went wrong so we never do that again.

It is amazing to me that people are running for office in this country promising to do what wrecked the failed liberal experiments. More amazing is the legion of stupid people who will continue to vote for this stuff.

I fear that, like a drunk, we will not put down the hooch until we have hit rock bottom.

I think your hooch point might have something in it - sadly. They just don't want to give it up... Meanwhile, Detroit's reverting to farmland.

Yeah, they're considering bulldozing about a third of it. That leaves only 2/3rd left to bulldoze later, after another 50 years of liberal politicians get done driving the remaining population from this toilet of a city.

I used to live near Detroit, but tried not to go downtown too often, and risk getting murdered by a crack adict who would kill his own mother for 50 cents.

Thanks Fredd - Detroit's a singular place. Gives a whole new meaning to the 'greening of America'.

God bless.

I totally agree, SBW. I've tried to coax him out of his cyber-lair, but with no success. Must think on a compelling strategy...

The Progressive destroyed the city and now the state.I live just north of Detroit and it doesn't look to good around here now either.

Thanks Chris - what happened to Detroit's a real shame...
